Goose Hunt

Ranger Creek Goose offers two different styles of goose hunting.

Field Hunts

Traditional field hunts take place over peanut, maize, and wheat fields within easy reach of Haskell. Our ability to hunt the fields the birds are using is why hunting is consistent even to the end of the season. Upon arriving, the guides and party will set out a spread of full body decoys and silhouettes. We use padded chairs and ghille blankets or layout blinds to keep you hidden. Hunters do not dig pits. Hunting will take place until noon or limits are reached.

Playa Hunts

Hunting geese in West Texas over water is something all waterfowlers should experience. Playa hunts allow a later start to the morning and take place as birds return after the morning feed. However, many hunters still enjoy the getting up early to watch Hundreds of Thousands of geese filter into the fields. Upon arriving, the guides and party will set out a spread of full body decoys, floaters and silhouettes. All hunting is done in custom-built blinds with benches or low profile layouts. Hunters do not dig pits. Hunting will take place until noon or limits are reached.

These hunts are limited so that the birds are not over pressured. This instills good hunting all season long

Teal

Fast and furious is the only way to describe it.  If you are looking for fast pace action this is what you’re looking for.  It is not uncommon for hunts to finish before the sun is even up.  Combine with an afternoon dove hunt and make it a full day of hunting.  These hunts fill up fast the season is short.

Ducks

West Texas is the last secret spot to duck hunt in Texas.  Mixed bags are the norm but late season can provide some of the best Mallard shoots around.  The hunts can take place on dry fields, playas or ranchland waterholes and lakes.  Daily scouting of hundreds of miles of ensures the best hunt possible.

Dove

Haskell County is the Premier Dove hunting in West Texas.  Thousands of hunters flock to the surrounding area to pursue these grey darts.  Whither you hunt over grain, sunflowers or tanks make sure and bring lots of shells because the action gets hot. Let us cater your September Getaway!
